2008 SBS Achievement Award
SBS supports an award of $5000, presented at least every three years, to recognize outstanding
achievements in research, innovation, ground-breaking foundation or seminal contributions that have proven to be broadly applicable to biomolecular sciences or pharmaceutical/agricultural
lead discovery. The award also seeks to recognize those who have distinguished themselves within the scope of the society's mission. Independence of thought, originality of approach,
clarity of vision, and a consistent record of achievement are important criteria. Quality and depth, rather than the number of contributions, are recognized.
2008 SBS Accomplishment Award in Biomolecular Sciences & Lead Discovery
SBS supports annual $1000 awards to members for a significant technical accomplishment,
exceeding a benchmark or milestone in screening or the lead discovery process or an innovative and integrative use of mature technologies. More than one award may be conferred annually.
Polypops Foundation Award for the Best Innovation for Microplate Design or Application
An award of $2500 is given to the nominee(s) selected for this award. The award recognizes innovation
in the design or application of microplates. There are 3 possible qualifiers for this award: a clever idea that relates to the type of polymers (must be plastic); a new microplate design; or a novel
application for microplates.
