Dr. Don Frail is presently Head, Global Indications Discovery Unit COE, Pfizer Global Research and Development. In this role, Dr. Frail oversees a Research unit that discovers and develops additional uses of Pfizer compounds across a variety of therapeutic indications. This group, formed in 2007 and entirely focused on the discovery of additional indications for compounds, is unique in the industry. Compounds are evaluated through a panel of disease relevant assays across multiple therapeutic areas and new findings are validated to support additional clinical development. Prior to leading the Indications Discovery Unit, Dr. Frail headed Discovery Biology for Pfizer at the Saint Louis Laboratories, with responsibilities for all biology efforts supporting Inflammation, Cardiovascular/Metabolic, and Allergy/Respiratory therapeutic areas. Prior to joining Pfizer, he held positions in Pharmacia (Vice President, CNS Discovery), Wyeth (Director, Women's Health Research), and Abbott (Group Leader, Neurodegeneration, CNS Discovery). Dr. Frail graduated from SUNY at Stony Brook with a B.S. in Biology and Mathematics, his Ph.D. from McGill University, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Washington University in Saint Louis.
